Camp Altiplano, Caravaca de la Cruz, Murcia, Spain
Camp Altiplano is an off-grid restoration camp on a 5-hectare plot in Murcia’s high plains. Since 2017 it has transformed severely degraded farmland into a thriving agroforestry system, engaging more than 2,000 volunteers and supporting wider efforts to restore 620,000 hectares through local collaboration.
The camp regenerates degraded land through hands-on ecological restoration and builds capacity for long-term environmental, economic and social resilience, serving as a living laboratory and community hub demonstrating regenerative agriculture and restoration.
